Abstract
Introduction: Enteroatmospheric stula (EAF) is
known as the link between the intestinal lumen and
the surface area of an open abdominal wound. FADs
generally do not close spontaneously, therefore
denitive surgical repair is required. Objective: To
prepare a systematic review and meta-analysis on
the current management of the abdomen with the
use of the Bogotá bag versus the use of Vacuum
Assisted Closure (V.A.C.), comparing the morbidity
and mortality of this pathology. Methodology:
The PRISMA methodology is proposed to carry
out the systematic review and meta-analysis
through the search for documents in the PubMed,
Scielo and Google Scholar databases so that they
can be selected based on the determined eligibility
criteria. Results: 24 articles were selected as
part of the systematic review from a total of 1031
documents initially found. For the meta-analysis,
42 articles were found, of which three were useful,
and it was evidenced a 36 % probability that a
patient presents complications in the management
of enteroatmospheric stula due to catastrophic
abdomen when using the V.A.C. compared to the
Bogotá stock market. Conclusions: The mortality
rate between catastrophic open abdomen
management techniques is between 17 % and 35
%. The capillarity method (MECA) is considered a
current technique with no record of mortality and
it is possible to combine the use of VAC with the
bipedicle ap technique or skin grafts.
